Oblivious to Eye-Opening

Are we oblivious to sin? Or do we examine our conscious regularly? The Church's "hell-bent" (excuse the pun) insistence on recognition of sin is not a downer--a thwart against the desire to live the better life. Rather, recognition of our own sinfulness and its ramifications will lead to the deep life--a life fully alive. Jesus' jaunt into the desert is a confrontation with evil, with a demon, with sin. It didn't destroy Him and it won't destroy us. Our transgressions have been acquitted by righteous "J" the One who reverses Adam's no and gives us a YES to eternal life. This Lent, will we be oblivious to our sinfulness and be half backed or acknowledge our sin and open our eyes? Let's face those demons, enter the desert, and come destroy death becoming victorious in life!
